Sexual health promotion for schools and colleges
Sexual Health Bexley’s community outreach service aims to support Bexley residents, particularly young people, with comprehensive information about sexual health. Our team is friendly, inclusive and skilled at answering even the most awkward questions about sexual health!
We offer a range of free activities to support Bexley schools and colleges to deliver high-quality Relationships and Sex Education (RSE).
Please email us on bromh.sexualhealthbexley@nhs.net to discuss your school or college's needs.
We are preparing an educational offer for Bexley schools and colleges that we hope to circulate soon.
In the meantime, please see the tabs below for details of what we can currently offer for students and staff.
Available for ages 16+
(this offer can be adapted for younger age groups - please contact us if you would like to discuss this further).
Our outreach team can visit your school or college with a free health promotion stall or drop-in session where students aged 16+ can access free condoms, STI self-testing kits, advice, and information about local sexual health services.
This is a great way to support students with accurate information and resources, so that they can have safe, healthy and positive relationships.
Stalls can be set up in spaces such as sixth-form common rooms or canteens, or we can run a 1-1 drop-in session in a confidential space.
Both forms of outreach can be delivered on either a one-off or termly basis: please email us to discuss what might work best for your students.
"I wanted to send a follow-up email to thank [your team] for supporting our STI and contraception education. [The team] were brilliant with our Year 12’s and it was an incredibly successful day." - Teacher, Beths Grammar School
We know that teaching and talking about sexual health with young people can feel challenging.
We deliver free sexual health training for Bexley professionals, aimed at increasing:
- Understanding of current themes, priorities and challenges within sexual health
- Knowledge of the laws, ethics and safeguarding regarding sexual health
- Confidence to deliver accurate, empowering messaging around contraception and STIs
- Awareness of local sexual health services (for all age groups).
To book onto a free training, please visit our Eventbrite page.
We run the London C-Card Scheme for Bexley: a free condom distribution scheme for under-25s. This initiative aims to reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unplanned pregnancies in young people's relationships.
Schools and colleges are welcome to sign up as outlets for the C-Card Scheme. We provide you with everything you need, so the scheme is cost-free - and a great way of supporting your students with their sexual health.
