Most STIs can be cured with antibiotics. Some infections, such as HIV, don't have a cure, but can be managed with medication: enabling people to lead long and healthy lives.
If you receive a positive result for an STI – meaning that you have an infection – you will usually be told where you can access treatment locally by the service which did your test.
Treatment can be accessed from:
- Sexual health clinics
- Some GP surgeries
- Some pharmacies, which will have a private room to discuss this.
Bexley residents can search for their nearest sexual health clinic through our list of clinics, or can find other sexual health services through the NHS website. You don't have to register with a clinic to use its services, meaning Bexley residents can access clinics across the country.
