Contraception is used to prevent pregnancy.
There are many methods of contraception and some types also protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs), such as condoms.
You can legally access contraception even if you are under 16.

Free condoms
Under 25s
If you're aged 14 - 24, you can get free condoms and lube via Bexley's C-Card Scheme.
This is a free and confidential scheme: it doesn't cost anything to join and we won't tell anyone that you are using it.
If you're aged 16+, you can register online. If you are aged 14-15, you can register at the Sexual Health Bexley drop-in or another registration outlet: visit the C-Card website to find out where your nearest registration outlet is.
Over 25s
If you're over 24, you can get free condoms and lube from:

Pharmacies in Bexley can prescribe free contraceptive pills, including:
All pharmacies sell condoms, and many are part of the Bexley C-Card Scheme: meaning they can provide young people aged 14-24 with free condoms. You can find a list of which pharmacies are part of the scheme on the C-Card website.
GPs
Most GPs in Bexley can provide the following to patients who are registered with their practice:
- Emergency contraception
- Routine contraception (e.g. pills, patch, ring)
- Long-acting reversible contraception (injection, coils, implants)
All GPs can give you information about the full range of contraceptive methods, and refer you to services where these are available (if not provided by their practice).
Sexual Health London
Sexual Health London is a discreet online service for people aged 16+ who are living in London.
You can order free contraception to your home or a collection point, including:
- The combined pill
- The contraceptive ring
- The contraceptive patch
- The progestogen-only pill
- The emergency contraceptive pill
You can also order free STI testing kits from SHL if you have mild/no symptoms.
Sexual health clinics
Sexual health clinics are free, confidential, non-judgemental services where you can access support and care for your sexual health.
